Summary

Chloe Mayoux is a historian who left the Harvard Kennedy School to join the University of Vienna's Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies in Austria in early 2026, as an APART-USA fellow, a programme of the Austrian Academy of Sciences created for US-based researchers.

She is a PhD candidate in international history at the London School of Economics, supervised by Professor Matthew Jones and Professor Piers Ludlow, and will spend the final year of her doctorate as a Visiting Fellow at Sciences Po's Centre for History. She holds a BA in European Studies from King's College London, a Certificate in International Affairs and Strategy from Sciences Po Paris, and a Master's degree in Global and Imperial History from St Antony's College, University of Oxford. She served as co-Managing Editor of the journal Cold War History from 2022 to 2023.

The University of Vienna announced her recruitment alongside seven other APART-USA and university-funded researchers on November 4, 2025.
