Summary
Emma McDonnell is a human-computer interaction researcher who left a National Library of Medicine postdoctoral fellowship in biomedical informatics at the University of Washington School of Medicine to join TU Wien's Institute of Visual Computing and Human-Centered Technology as an APART-USA fellow.
McDonnell earned her PhD in Human Centered Design and Engineering from the University of Washington in 2024. Her research focuses on expanding who is considered when designing accessible technologies, engaging both nondisabled people in collective access approaches and investigating how to better support underserved disability groups, including people with chronic health disabilities.
