Summary

Matt Minich is a communication scientist who left the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the FDA's Division of Research and Evaluation/Office of Health Communication and Education to join the University of Vienna's Faculty of Social Sciences in Austria in early 2026, as an APART-USA fellow of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.

Minich earned his PhD in journalism and mass communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2023, where he was affiliated with the Communication, Brain, and Behavior initiative and the Computational Approaches and Message Effects Research and Health and Information Technology Studies research groups. He holds a master's degree in public communication and technology, with an emphasis on narrative persuasion, and a bachelor's degree in journalism, both from Colorado State University.

The University of Vienna announced his recruitment alongside seven other APART-USA and university-funded researchers on November 4, 2025.
